On the last day of my wife and I’s honeymoon, I stepped into a fierce red ant pile. Now, a few things generally happen when you step into this kind of ant pile. First, you don’t even know you did it. You carry about life like nothing is wrong. That’s what I did as I took selfies with my wife. Next comes the fiery itching. This is when you go bananas! I think I screamed pretty loud and danced like a chicken when the ants started biting my ankles.

I’m at a point in my life when I simply cannot ignore the ants. I have an itching collection of passions, skills, talents, and gifts that I simply cannot ignore. As of late, God is leading our family to North Carolina where I plan to pursue a master’s degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I sense God calling me to preach and make disciples vocationally. Yet, I also have a deep rooted passion for excellent communication, especially through graphic design. I have often wondered where the appropriate balance is as my talents, gifts, and skills seem to nearly collide. That is where Creat-Moteo comes in.

Creat-Moteo, as the blog at SunjayArmstead.com, seeks to fulfill the Great Commission and inspire creative disciples. Analyzed, Creat-Moteo’s mission can be explained like this:

FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION (Matt. 28:18-20) by investing in people and making disciples. This desire is brought to life in 2 Timothy 2:1-2 where the apostle Paul instructs his mentee Timothy to “entrust to reliable men who will also qualified to teach others” (v.2). Creat-Moteo is seeks to become a well of teaching and discipleship that spurs on the Church to make disciples of all nations.
INSPIRE CREATIVE DISCIPLES who tap into their inner artist to reflect a Creative God. When a person receives Jesus into their life, they are given life in Heaven after their stay on earth (John 3:16), as well as Spiritual Gifts to be used “for the common good” (1 Cor. 12:7). In addition to these special Gifts, I believe we all have a unique set of talents and skills that can be used to bring God great honor. Creat-Moteo is a place to see to it that God is honored in the strategic use of our creativity.

To carry out its mission, Creat-Moteo has 3 core functions.

Be an artistic platform. I love artistic expression primarily because I know at least one amazing Artist – God – who made you and I from dust.
Be a discipleship hub. Every Christian has the task of making disciples who make more disciples. I want to build up God’s Church through practical teaching grounded in the Word of God. We must be growing in our faith practice as Christ followers, so this is just the place to do that.
Be a signpost to Jesus. For those who have either strayed from Christ or never met Him along life’s journey, it is my desire for Creat-Moteo to be a place to meet Jesus.
