Last year I read Necessary Endings by Dr. Henry Cloud. The final words of his book are a great summary of the entire text: “But remember, for the right tomorrow to come, some parts of today have to come to a necessary ending.”[1] Today we reach a necessary ending in lieu of a great future.

I started Creat-Moteo in the summer of 2016. Our mission was to fulfill the Great Commission and inspire creative disciples. I was itching to understand God’s unique calling on my life and desperately wanted to bring others along with me.

I wrote a wide variety of blogs for Creat-Moteo, started a Facebook page, and even spent a summer investing in other creatives. We have much to praise God for! We’ve covered lots of ground and have seen God work in ways only he can. Thanks for joining me in such a unique journey.

A necessary ending.

I am sad to say that today is a necessary ending for Creat-Moteo. I am still pursing discipleship, but now in a radically different way. When I first came to Southeastern seminary, I wrote, “I sense God calling me to preach and make disciples vocationally. Yet, I also have a deep rooted passion for excellent communication, especially through graphic design.” I wrestled with this dichotomy for two years and finally sensed that God was calling me into the marketplace.

I now plan to make disciples in the marketplace and influence marketplace leaders. Our churches need disciple-makers in the workplace because that is where people all most of the week!

Also, seeing how our nation thrives and continues on commerce, I see a vital need to influence the influencers. I have no clue how long or to where this pursuit will take me. But I trust God’s leadership as I seek to advance his kingdom.

What’s next?

Creat-Moteo will no longer publish new blogs or post on Facebook. You still can access our archives on this website and reach out to me with discipleship questions. I am always glad to serve in that way!

I will now publish articles focused on marketplace leaders. We will take deep dives into design, leadership, the role of good design in organizations, and more. I am thrilled to take this next step in order “for the right tomorrow to come.”[2]
